Dolores Lawrence

    Dolores J. Lawrence, 87, of Winslow passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010.  Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock this morning (Feb. 5) at the Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, located at 1505 W. Third St in Winslow. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services.  Burial will follow at Desert View Cemetery in Winslow.
    She was born July 28, 1922, in Detroit, Mich., to Otto and Hattie Neuman.
    Dolores grew up in Michigan and married Robert G. Lawrence on Aug. 14, 1940. This 58-year union was blessed with three children, four grandchildren and 12 great-grand children.
    She moved to Winslow in 1998 after her husband’s death to be closer to her daughter Darleen and family.
    Dolores was a homemaker, and enjoyed painting, crochet and shopping. She was known for her love of animals and always shared their companionship.
    Survivors include her daughter Patricia Kitching of Lake Orion, Mich.; her son, Robert Lawrence Jr. (Tina) of Las Vegas, Nev.; two granddaughters, Linda Gierak and Glory Lawrence; and two grandsons, Jason Kitching and Kenn Evans, II.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Lawrence Sr.; her daughter, Darleen Evans; and two great-grandsons Zechariah Nathanial Evans and Angel Mueller Evans.
