Richard Gilbert “Rick” Borunda, 55, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at his home in Phoenix. Holy Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, at Madre De Dios Catholic Church in Winslow, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with Father Frank Chacon as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Desert View Cemetery in Winslow. He was born Feb. 2, 1954, in Winslow. Rick attended Winslow High School, and worked for the railroad. His favorite pastimes were boating, camping, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. Survivors include his wife, Christine; his son, Richard Daniel of Phoenix; his mother, Lily Martinez of Winslow; his brothers, Raymond (Diana) of Phoenix and Michael of Winslow; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert; his stepfather, Raul Martinez; and his father, Gilbert Borunda. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow is in charge of the arrangements.
