Mary Louise Cox, 83, died on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at her home in Snowflake. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, at the Serenity Chapel at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, located at 2300 W. Van Buren Ave. in Phoenix. She was born on Feb. 7, 1925, to Dan and Florence Mae Henry Weston in Coalinga, Calif. On Dec. 21, 1952, she married Lowell A. Cox in New Mexico. They were married 24 years, when he died on June 14, 1976. They raised two daughters, Cynthia (Dennis R.) Overmyer of Snowflake and Nancy F. (Darrell E.) Busbin, of Lake Worth, Fla., and one son, William R. Cox II. They had eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. During her working life, Mary Louise worked as an eligibility investigator for a county hospital. She loved to crochet and make ceramics. Her great love was reading the Bible. She was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include her children; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; one brother, Roy Weston of Payson; and two sisters, Betty Parrish Boyd and Juanita Meeks of Phoenix. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a grandchild, John Overmyer. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor was in charge of the arrangements.
