Handgun Match Results NotedFebruary 5th, 2010
The results of the January Northeastern Arizona PAL Sportsmen’s Association Handgun Match included: Auto-1, Frank Lucero, George Baum and Ken Peshlakai; Auto-2, John Sears; and Revolver, Ron Piotrowski Stage winners were: first and third stages, Frank Lucero; second stage, Ken Peshlakai; and fourth stage, John Sears. The first stage was a quick six-round paper stage. The second stage was a mixture of two-hand, one-hand and weak-hand shooting, with reloads thrown in to keep things interesting. The third stage was a 26-round field course. The fourth stage was the infamous steel plate stage. The monthly handgun match with categories for pistol and revolver will begin at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13. You will need three magazines for your pistol and three speed loaders for your revolver, though four of each are much better. You may shoot both revolver and pistol, and both categories are scored separately. The maximum required hits per stage are about 18 to 24. Eye and ear protection are mandatory. Match fees for members are $5 per gun and for non-members, $8. The group shoots under USPSA/IPSC rules. Bring gloves, water, firewood, a snack and a pen. There is a CCW class scheduled for Saturday, April 24.
